Chinese New Year Eve takes place on Feb. 7 this year. That's when I'll be gathered with my extended family around the dinner table for a feast. For the February issue of Seattle Magazine, I contributed an article about some of the symbolism tied to the feast and also a few shopping tips. The New Year's feast is about abundance and having many types of dishes - meats, seafood, fowl, vegetables, noodles and dumplings, sweets.
