You walk into an Asian market and see piles and piles of greens- gai choy, yu choy, bok choy, water spinach, yam leaf and many others. How do you cook them? What do they taste like? In this class, Hsiao-Ching Chou, well known Seattle food writer and instructor of our popular Potsticker Love classes, takes students on a flavor tour of Asian greens. Hsiao-Ching will demonstrate a basic stir-fry that can be applied to any of these greens, plus she’ll give you valuable tips on how to add flavor boosters.
You will enjoy substantial tastes of everything Hsiao-Ching demos (we’ll have plenty of steamed rice available for you, of course!), with wine, beer, and other beverages included. Then you’ll get to stir fry your choice of greens, hands-on. If you have a wok, feel free to bring it to this class. If not, you’ll do just fine with the saute pan we provide for you.
